Keep Your Chair Safe, Reliable & Long-Lasting with Lith-Tech

At Lith-Tech Mobility, we know that owning a folding electric wheelchair isn’t just about mobility, it’s about independence, confidence, and daily freedom. Just like any piece of precision equipment, your electric wheelchair needs regular maintenance to keep it safe and functioning reliably.

Whether you’re near our Farnham HQ or based near our Poole location, we now offer comprehensive wheelchair servicing options both in-house and at your home, designed exclusively for Lith-Tech users.

Why Regular Wheelchair Maintenance Matters

Your wheelchair is your gateway to everyday life, from getting to work to running errands and travelling abroad. Keeping it in top shape means you can trust it to perform, day in and day out.

Here’s why maintenance is essential:

  • Safety – Loose bolts, worn tyres, or tired batteries can be dangerous.
  • Reliability – Regular check-ups reduce unexpected breakdowns.
  • Longevity – A well-maintained chair can last years longer.
  • Confidence – Peace of mind knowing your chair is dependable.

Our Maintenance Services – In-House and At-Home Options

We offer four servicing packages tailored to your needs and how often you use your chair. These are available from our workshops in Farnham and Poole, or via home visits within a 60-mile radius of either location.

Silver Service (In-House – £30)

Bring your chair to us, and we’ll:

  • Tighten all bolts and key components
  • Inspect for wear and tear
  • Perform general function tests
  • Ensure your chair is safe and fit for purpose

This is ideal for users who use their chair lightly or haven’t had it serviced in the last 6-12 months.

Gold Service (In-House – £50)

Includes everything from the Silver Service, plus:

  • Full chair strip-down and deep clean
  • Cosmetic spruce-up (e.g. spray touch-ups)
  • Optional re-graphic (if applicable)

Perfect for people who want their wheelchair to look and feel like new.

Silver Service (At-Home – £100)

Can’t make it to us? No problem. We’ll come to you and carry out the Silver Service at your home, which also includes:

  • Cleaning
  • Cosmetic touch-ups
  • Optional re-graphic

Gold Service Plan (At-Home – £100 x 2 visits/year)

This plan is ideal for high-usage wheelchair users or those with an XL chair. You’ll receive:

  • Two home visits in your first year of ownership (one at 6 months, one at 12)
  • All the features of our in-house Gold Service
  • Priority booking and peace of mind

To qualify for this plan, you must opt in within 2 weeks of purchasing your chair from us. After the first year, you can continue coverage via extended warranty through our partner, Fish Mobility Insurance.

“One of the most important parts of owning a wheelchair is maintenance. If you don’t look after your chair, then your safety goes, your reliability goes, and also the confidence it gives you to do day-to-day tasks.”
Toby St. George, Founder of Lith-Tech Mobility

Who Needs Regular Maintenance?

We recommend different levels of service depending on your usage and chair type:

Lite Users
Use your chair mainly for travel or occasional outings
→ A Silver Service once per year may be sufficient.

Frequent Users
Use your wheelchair daily or several times a week
→ Gold Service twice yearly is highly recommended.

XL Users
Heavy duty users place more stress on frames and components
→ We recommend bi-annual servicing to keep things safe and reliable.

Home Maintenance: What You Can Do Yourself

We also empower our customers with the tools and knowledge to maintain their own chairs when possible.

If you (or a partner/friend) feel confident, you can:

  • Follow our YouTube tutorials for basic upkeep
  • Check bolts and fixings monthly
  • Wipe down the frame and components every few weeks
  • Charge and store batteries correctly

However, please note: poor maintenance can void your warranty. If a part fails due to neglect or damage caused by lack of care, it won’t be covered, whether by us or Fish Insurance. If you’re not sure, it’s always better to book a professional service.

Service Areas – Farnham and Poole

We currently offer maintenance services within 60 miles or 1 hour 20 minutes of:

  • Farnham, Surrey (Lith-Tech HQ)
  • Poole, Dorset (New Branch)

Please note: We only service Lith-Tech chairs or high-quality equivalents (those with shared components). We do not support entry-level models from third-party brands.
